D\u00e9nomm\u00e9 Rovroi en 1229, Rouveroit en 1405, puis Rouvrois en 1729 et enfin Rouvroy-sur-Serre.<br \/>\nRouvroy signifiait en langue celtique \u00a0\u00bb un lieu plant\u00e9 de ch\u00eanes \u00ab\u00a0, que les Celtes appelaient une rouvroie.<\/p>\n<p>Le village existait d\u00e9j\u00e0 au XI\u00e8me si\u00e8cle. Il comprenait plusieurs hameaux : Wichery et Saint-Georges, qui furent rattach\u00e9s \u00e0 Rozoy-sur-Serre vers 1830.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L&rsquo;\u00e9glise du village avait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truite au XIII\u00e8me si\u00e8cle par les habitants pour construire un fort. Vers 1830, un projet devait rattacher Rouvroy \u00e0 Grandrieux. Les habitants ont donc reb\u00e2ti une \u00e9glise la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e et le village a pu ainsi garder son ind\u00e9pendance. Ce village poss\u00e8de la seule \u00e9glise en pans de bois et torchis du d\u00e9partement de l&rsquo;Aisne.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<style type=\"text\/css\">\n\t\t\t#gallery-1 {\n\t\t\t\tmargin:
